Hundmassage / Dog massage

Idag har Folke varit hos Lotta Gadd, diplomerad hundmassageterapeut (http://www.vaxjoveterinarpraktik.se/ ), för att få en timmes helkroppsmassage till priset av 380kr. Det var inga större problem att få upp Folke på bordet och det tog inte länge förrän han himlade med ögonen och njöt av behandlingen.
Folke has been at a masseuse this afternoon for a one hour full body massage. Folke really enjoyed the treatment and it didn't take long before he let out deep sighs and rolled his eyes.

Massagen är tänkt i förebyggande syfte och för att vara säker på att han inte kompenserar pga ngn låsning eller stelhet någonstans.
Han var lite stel i ljumskarna på båda sidor och även något i höger skuldra. Även sätesmuskeln var något spänd och kort men inget som verkade onormalt eller anmärkningsvärt på något vis enligt Lotta. Allt ordentligt stretchat och utmasserat, jag fick även lära mig vissa bitar och även vikten av att värma upp och varva ner Folke samt stretcha honom inom en kvart efter motion. Kort muskulatur är ofta ett resultat av brist på uppvärmning, nedvarvning och stretching.
Strechade Kellie en del ett tag när hon var ung så den biten har jag rätt bra pejl på.
The thought behind giving him massage is to prevent injuries and also to detect if he compensates in certain movements and builds muscles in some places at the cost of musculature in other parts of his body.
The gluteus maximus was a bit tense as well as the muscles around his groins and right shoulder, which are now limbered up by the massage and I was also shown how to do it myself to a certain level.

Folke var helt groggy efteråt och enligt dagmatte och daghusse sov han resten av dagen.
Måste säga att det var njutning för egen del också att se hur Folke slappnade av, gick ner i andning, tog långa djupa suckar och himlade med ögonen.
Folke spent the rest of the day sleeping according to his dogsitters.

I must say I think I nearly enjoyed the massage as much as Folke did by just watching him.

"Snowmotion"

Fortfarande snö, och det passar mig såväl som hundarna. Rundorna är helt fantastiska och det enda negativa jag kan komma på är att i princip allt vatten är fryst så inget för Folke att simma i, och sedan är det lite frustrerande med hala vägar när en splirrans ny cykel och oinvigd springer bara väntar på att få användas - speciellt när det snart är utställningar och Folke envisas med att passgå.
We still have a bit of snow - which suits both me and the dogs perfect. The walks are wonderful and the only downside I can come up with is that every lake and waterhole is ice which gives Folke nothing to swim in, it's also a bit frustrating to have a new bicycle and a never used springer - especially since shows are coming up and I need to get Folke comfortable running the right way. Icy roads are icy roads and it will just have to wait.

Flytt på gång och då är det ju alltid bra att ha stillat sitt samvete med en långpromenad tidigt på dagen så subjektet för det dåliga samvetet är ordentligt slutkörd. Blev tillfrågad av Ulle på jobbet igår om vi ville hänga med på promenix runt Lövsjön idag - strålande timing. Efter 2,5h runda var Folke lagom mör och redo att lägga nosen i blöt i precis allt som ska rensas och packas - men det är ju trevligt att grabben känner sig delaktig och jag är säker på att han kommer att vara lika pigg på att packa upp. Dessvärre kommer inte fullt lika många saker finnas tillgängliga för Folke TLC när det ska packas upp.
Moving to a new apartment this week which means lots of time spent sorting and packing. Spent 2,5 hours outdoors with a bunch of other dog people walking around the lake Lövsjön, which meant that Folke was pretty tired by the time we got home and ready to put his nose in every little thing that was sorted and packed - I guess it's nice he feels he is a part of it and I'm sure he will be equally enthusiastic when the time comes to unpack everything. Unfortunately not all that many things will be handed over to him to wreck as when sorting and packing.

Folke and Faye - best mates. Hm...what about some crossbreds...

6000-7000 per puppy...anybody interested??? I think the coat would be lovely!

After quite a few bum-shots, there she is...Folke has got good taste I must say.

Fick idag veta att två av Folkes bröder är röntgade och båda har A-höfter. Lättnad som alltid i HD-sammanhang och ett stort grattis till bröder med familj!

Found out today that two of Folke´s brothers have been x-rayed and both are A´s. A great relief and congrats to brothers with families.

Cesar Millan and AFV is the shit!

Folke har blivit en trogen fan av både Cesar Millan och America's Funniest Home Videos, känns nästan lite smått patetiskt att skriva det och ja det är total "tant Gertrud berättar historier om lilla Trixie" varning. Men det är ju sant och det är bara dessa två program - så grymt underhållande så nu kollar jag mer på Folke än på TVn, och till och med Pär har börjat kolla bara för att Folke gör det.

Folke has become a true fan of both Cesar Millan and AFV. It feels quite pathetic to mention it and yes it's totally a "auntie Gertrud tells stories about little Trixie" warning. But, it's the truth and he has singled out these two shows - it is very entertaining and I watch Folke more than I watch the shows, even Pär watches Cesar Millan nowadays just to watch Folke.

Kellies blodöra gav vika efter lite övertalning och ser mycket fint ut.

Vovvarna har även börjat hos ny dagmatte/husse, Annica och Henke. Folke studsar upp på morgonen och sätter sig demonstrativt vid dörren och Kellie kommer joggandes så fort jag börjar ta på mig ytterkläderna. Hundarna har kul och mitt samvete stillas, bonus är även att jag kan träna på gymmet 5 dagar i veckan. Närmare presentation av dagmatte/husse ihop med lite foto kommer snart hoppas jag.

Kellies hematoma gave way after a little bit of persuasion and has healed well.

I have also found a new dogsitter who can take the dogs 5 days a week while I am at work. A nurse student and a friend of one of my colleagues. Folke jumps up in the morning and sits in front of the door - in case I would ever consider not taking him with me it would be over his dead body. Kellie comes jogging when I put on my shoes. The dogs are having great fun, I don't have to drive all over the city during lunch hour and I also get the luxury of working out at the gym 5 days a week.
